WHO ARE THEY?

Premier Nutrition is a leader in high protein products such as shakes, bars and powders. They managed to establish themselves as leaders in the market, taking the brand overseas and promoting their products and flavors using digital and traditional media channels.

WHAT ABOUT MY ROLE?

  The recurrent stuff  

As part of the PNC Creative team, I was in charge of managing the graphic resources and give them a use, modifying assets depending on the needs of every request and Localization. Simple enough, right? I get a request, find the assets I need and create the piece. These pieces are dedicated to the promotion of new and existing products through Printed Ads, Social Media and E-commerce platforms, as well as non-traditional pieces sent to influencers.

A big portion of the work is focused on e-commerce websites for retailers like: Amazon (US, Canada), Costco (US, Canada, Mexico), Sam's Club and Walmart, just to name a few. 

   THE BEGINNING   

The products on the right are the Trinity of Premier Protein, these are the main flavors, and the ones available in most retailers, e-commerce platforms, and locations.

Part of my daily workload started by using these along with other flavors to adapt content for: Social and e-commerce platforms (Web banners, social media ads and posts, e-commerce content), as well as printed mediums (Magazines, pamphlets, publications, informative one-sheets).

On a regular basis I received requests directed to the US, Canadian, and Mexican market for several retailers and audiences, with unique elements, requirements and restrictions.

 

In addition to creating assets for promotion of the regular, traditional flavors I created content to launch new ones on the market:

From adapting the content received from a external agency, to create tiles and assets for e-commerce dedicated sites and promotional banners to be distributed across several sites such as Walmart, Amazon, Target, among others. As well as creating products for distribution to influencers and brand ambassadors.

   PRODUCT LAUNCHES   

What you're about to see is just the latest and most up-to-date work I've done for this brand. However, I successfully collaborated in the launch of 2 new lines of products (with Oats, Limited Edition, Premier Protein Bars) with 10 original flavors, packaging redesign (blue bar claim implementation) as well as the launch of around 5 flavors in Canada and Chocolate in Mexico. Always leveling up their visual presence and generating new original content for each launch.

   PRODUCT DEDICATED SITE   

As new products were launched and promoted online, always adapting to new visuals and trends, new tiles were required for the several e-commerce retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Walmart, among others. 

The tiles were required to evoke the flavor and creaminess of the product while reaffirming its nutritive values and benefits. In addition to the design, changes on the packaging language was required depending on the product and retailer, mostly because of the implementation of different callouts and translation/localization for a different market.

  Owning the Field  

When I fresh started this role, I noticed the assets were very limited, even though we had tools and a raw version of DAM tools, it was very difficult to locate assets and work on what later became recurrent tasks. To make things easier for me, I started to organize files on public folders, and created Working Files per recurrent project for efficiency, such as Master Files for graphics per flavor, region, and type of asset.

In addition to that, I was very proactive when it comes to our Brand and Visual Guidelines, as the departments are very spread out in teams, I found this as a way to stablish rules and restrictions when it comes to our Visual Identity, being as cohesive as required across all mediums.

  The Extra Mile  

Looking to expand my duties and portfolio pieces at the same time, I was constantly coming up with fun and creative ideas for a variety of projects and situations. I successfully pitched and created from start to finish several projects such as The Shaker Box, the Digital Marketing Report (not shown as that includes confidential information, but condensed in an attractive and digestible form!), a celebration of our Heritage creating presentations, and some animation projects.

I was contacted by a coworker asking for help to celebrate diversity at PNC by highlighting employees in an unique way - This was a fun project that started as a small initiative to acknowledge our heritage and diversity. As Venezuelan and as a person that enjoy being involved in a variety of projects that will have an impact in the organization, this was an amazing project to be involved in - after the first cookbook, focused on Latinx community, I have created different seasonal and specific cookbooks like Thanksgiving and Christmas edition, Lunar New Year, and most recently celebrating Black History Month!
